Diabetes and your Dental Health
Diabetes can cause serious problems in your mouth. You can do something about it.
Complications of Diabetes:

Decreased dental healing response rate.

Increased risk of gum disease.

Increased incidence of a dry mouth (which increases the risk of cavities).

Increased risk for mouth fungal infections.

Increased incidence of denture sores.
See your Dentist if you are experiencing:

Red, sore, swollen or bleeding gums.

Loose or sensitive teeth.
-
Dentures that do not fit well.
If you have diabetes, follow these steps:

Control your blood glucose.

Brush and floss everyday.
-
Visit your dentist at least every 6 months.

Clean dentures well every day.
-
Quit smoking. Smoking makes gum disease worse.
Visit your dentist regularly to preserve you smile and your health.
